Spessore started during the pandemic as an independent label, when there was not much else to do: I printed and reprinted cassettes of underground artists from Ticino, one batch at a time. As the catalogue grew, the tapes turned into an archive of tapes, and then into an archive of every release. The project then moved to Koal Studio, and the Swiss National Sound Archives look after the preservation: the tapes are in safer hands than my drawer.

Spessore
It started with tapes, stamped and packed by hand, with ink on the fingers to prove it. Then the archive went to print with a single typeface, the one of the website, in black, greys and a signal orange. Every object is a record of the archive, with its own number: the book, a magazine with all 89 covers on two pages, the pass for the listening night and a home studio inside the magazine.
Digital
The archive online, handled with white gloves: every rap release from Ticino and Switzerland, with covers, credits and the stories behind them, the ones you usually only hear at the bar after the concert. Two switches change the mood: a dark mode for the night owls and a graffiti font for the nostalgic.
